Features
The Gibson sg is a classic. I have it in black/ebony and bought it used for 500€. It's has 2 gibson pickup's ( 490 R and 490 T ), Tune o matic bridge , and a nice '50ies neck. I changed the tuners in gotoh tuners because they are a little bit better but the stock tuners are OK. Mahony body. Not verry heavy and good playabillity
Sound
The guitar sounds very good and is usable for many music style's. I mostly play Rock , Hard rock , pop and blues and I use much clean. I like the neck pickup the most because of it's warm sound. It sounds like a Gibson should sound. Alltough I think the pickup's lack a bit of character. I'm going to swap to Seymour duncans soon.
Action, Fit, & Finish
As i bought the guitar used I can't say how it came out of the box, but I lowered the action and now it plays very smooth.
Reliability/Durability
Again , because I bought it used this guitar has quiet a lot dents in it. The previous owner played it in a "famous" band and gigged with it on regular base for 6 years. Yet there is nothing that doesn't work anymore. Mine allready looks quiet vintage.
Overall this is a great guitar and it's worth the price you pay. The prices for the used one's are quiet low. I bought mine for the budget of an epiphone. This is not the first "serious" guitar I own but it surely is one of my best one's. With some little modifications you have a super guitar. The tuners and the knobs(for the looks) are changed and soon I'll put in a SD phat cat ( P90 ) in the bridge position and a SD jazz in the neck because the pickup's had quiet alot output. Great for hardrock/metal ...
I'd give my guitar a 8/10
